The Superior Marble & Granite Company Limited

FAQs

Can we meet to discuss our requirements?

We are pleased to offer appointments to discuss your requirements and for you to look at the range and quality of material we have available

Do you measure up for the job yourselves?

If you would like us to measure up and / or template the job - please call to fix an appointment. The job will involve taking exact measurements, including all cut-outs and any shaping. To take templates we need all the relevant units to be in their final positions and any sinks or hobs to be on site. If these are not in 'situ' then we would need the manufacturers exact specified measurements. We will then use these templates as a guide to cut your choice of material.

If we provide the measurements and tell you what we want will you cut and supply the product for us to fit?

We are happy to work from your own templates or measurements if the worktops are relatively straightforward, however, we cannot accept any responsibility for any errors if the measurements are not accurate.

When and how do we choose the material

It is helpful to decide on the material as early in the process as possible, as we aim to start cutting as soon as possible after templating. If we know in advance the type of granite you would like we can be sure to have it waiting in stock.

How consistent is the quality and colour of the granite?

We believe that it is the unique quality of natural stone that makes it so desirable, but please bear in mind that our products are natural materials or made from natural materials and, as such, every piece is slightly different. Even in a single piece, colour and patterning can vary from one end to the other. If you have any doubts please feel free to visit our workshop to look at the full scants.

How quickly will you do the job?

From the time when the order is confirmed we aim to fit your finished worktops in approximately 7-14 days. However the size and style of the job means the time scale will vary. We will advise you of any seasonal changes to our timescales.

How do your charges compare with other companies?

You may find we are not the cheapest but then we are specialists in high quality, one-off projects – ie kitchen worktops. We do also entertain multiple quantity projects from single templates, and 'off the shelf' work, design and projects.

What are your terms with regard to payment?

We ask for 40% deposit which is payable at the time of confirmation of order and must have been paid prior to templating. The balance of 60% is payable on the day of installation for kitchen worktops or items that will be fitted within 1 day. Please enquire for projects spanning more than 1 days fitting or are not delivery only?.

How can I pay?

We accept cash, cheque (please allow 10 working days for clearance if using a cheque to pay deposit), bankers draft, BACS.

Do you have an after sales service and what does it include?

Yes, we will contract customers after 3 years with regard to re-sealing the stone – especially important with granite worktops. Customers with limestone showers will be contacted every 6 months. You are under no obligation to use this service but all customers will receive an initial reminder letter. We also carry out repairs and the like should any damage occur. Rates are available upon request.

Do the company personell who will be working on site have liability insurance?

Yes, we have a full and comprehensive insurance for all company personnel and vehicles, copies of which are displayed in our office.
